Meet Our Team

Meet the people behind the Peak Wesley Way

Alex Harrison

Pilgrimage Manager

As the Pilgrimage Manager for the Peak Wesley Way, I am your first port of call for enquiries, bookings, queries and feedback. I work alongside a team of volunteers to maintain and prepare the chapels, offer welcome to pilgrims and promote the Peak Wesley Way.

I spent part of my childhood in the Peak District and have maintained links with Bakewell Methodist Church throughout my adult life. My career in Mineral Exploration and Mining has taken me to all corners of the world, before returning to the UK in 2020 and settling in Hathersage, where I attend the local Methodist Church and the Hub at Hope.

The Peak Wesley Way pilgrimage is a wonderful initiative to share our beautiful surroundings with others seeking spiritual enrichment, with a sense of adventure. I am proud to be part of the team.

Jonathan Brooks

Pioneer Minister

Jonathan is a Pioneer minister based at The Hub of Hope in the Methodist chapel in the centre of Hope. Whilst ordained as an Anglican minister Jonathan has always had a passion for mission in communities and reaching out to people through their love of the countryside and God’s amazing creation.

The PWW has been part of this overall vision and story of our community. The Hub was established to allow people to explore and find faith in new ways. This includes outdoor activities such as walking, mountain biking, bouldering and encouraging discipleship within these activities. The Hub draws families and individuals to a relaxed atmosphere in worship and faith living looking for God in His creation. From its small beginnings we have regular Sunday meetings including communion outdoors to toddler groups and youth drop in. The Hub also tries to engage with the local community to show God’s love is for all.

Dave

Volunteer Welcomer

I am Dave, a volunteer Welcomer for Hathersage chapel. I live in Hathersage and have been a member at the Methodist Church there for five years, where I’m also involved in Messy Church, Sunday Club, helping in the community garden and playing the organ for services. I really enjoying welcoming pilgrims to experience our church in such a unique and special way by staying overnight.
