PWW Day 1 – Matlock to Youlgrave. Starting from Matlock railway station, climbing up to Bonsall, Winster in limestone hills of the White Peak to Youlgrave, first night at Youlgrave Methodist Chapel.
PWW Day 2 – Youlgrave to Great Longstone, taking in the beautiful Lathkil Dale, Site of Special Scientific Interest, Over Haddon, the busy market town of Bakewell, along the Monsal Trail and to the tiny Methodist Chapel at Great Longstone, the second overnight stop on the Peak Wesley Way.
PWW Day 3 – Great Longstone to Baslow. From St Giles Church, up Longstone Edge, past the old mine rakes, dropping down into Calver village for lunch before a riverside walk to Baslow, passing the Old Toll Bridge to night 3 in Baslow Methodist Chapel.
PWW Day 4 – Baslow to Hathersage. Beautiful walk in sunshine along the famous gritstone edges. Thank you for sharing, and for leaving your delightful crocheted doves for other pilgrims to find.
PWW – Day 5, Hathersage to Castleton. Breakfast at the David Mellor roundhouse factory, a drizzly but charming riverside walk to Castleton taking the sights of Win Hill, Lose Hill and Peveril Castle as seen from Castleton Methodist Church, the Peveril Centre, the last overnight stay on the Peak Wesley Way.
PWW – Day 6, Castleton to Edale. A cheeky glimpse of a rainbow to start the day with storm Lilian threatening to blow our hardy pilgrims off the Great Ridge before descending towards Edale to catch the train home. Spectacular views all around. Thank you, James, for sharing your pilgrim journey.
