Dear Pilgrims, friends and supporters of the Peak Wesley Way.
Peak Wesley Way Open Day
Come and join us at our Open Day at Great Longstone Methodist Chapel on Thursday 6th March from 2 to 5pm.
Great Longstone Chapel is the second night’s accommodation offered on the Peak Wesley Way, and seems to be one of the favourite stopovers for our Pilgrims. It is a charming little space, with a small garden to sit and drink tea after a long days walk from Youlgrave. Like all the chapels along the way it has been fitted with a kitchenette, shower and toilet and facilities for six pilgrims to sleep overnight.
Whether you are curious about potentially walking the Peak Wesley Way, looking for ways to get involved as a volunteer, or simply want to learn more about what’s going on with your local chapel, come and chat with us.
Everyone is welcome!

Pilgrim Video Diaries We recently uploaded some video diaries, kindly provided by James Banton, who walked the Peak Wesley Way last summer. These are a delightful little collection of video reels showing a taste of what to expect on your pilgrimage. Click below to watch and share.
Individual bookings with Her on a Hill If you are keen to walk the Peak Wesley Way, are female, and looking for a group to walk with, consider booking with Her on a Hill. They provide walking holidays for women who love being outdoors, and are offering a guided pilgrimage on the Peak Wesley Way in early June.

Tread Softly I recently joined the regular “tread softly” walk in Great Longstone, on a pleasant morning stroll in warm sunshine – very welcome after the previous days of snow and ice. Part of the “Walk Derbyshire” initiative, they walk weekly and would be pleased to meet with and accompany pilgrims as they walk the route through Great Longstone, and over the Edge to Baslow.

P.S. Does anyone recognise the chapel in the photo above? It’s a lovely picnic spot, has a fascinating history and is fun to explore the garden behind. The answer will be in the next newsletter…
